Veronica Crane is a wine company named after the legend of Veronica, a dark angel and warrior princess who belongs to a family of royalty in Tuscany, Italy. She is considered a threat to her kingdom because of her supernatural powers. She escapes from her castle and comes across a a ghost spirit named Irene. Veronica Crane was inspired by the movie Frozen, as well as the Greek goddess Athena. The story is set in Europe when the bubonic plague occurred. It mentioned a lot in history textbooks that Marco Polo went to China to bring some crops back into Europe, and that is when the bubonic plague began to spread. However, Veronica Crane’s story is a bit more complicated. Instead of Marco Polo coming to Europe to bring some crops, The Mongols are taking over Tuscany, but Veronica’s parents are aware of it. The Mongols want to spread the bubonic plague because they are upset that Italy isn’t granting them their grapes to make wine. How Veronica has come to know of this event was that Irene had her ways of communicating her sidekick powers to Veronica. She places her hand on top of Veronica’s forehead. Veronica has a vision that a group of Mongols is coming into Tuscany. It starts to rain heavily, and Veronica receives her wings from Irene to help her fly. She flew over back to Tuscany from the Dark Forest to warn the citizens to prepare for war. Veronica’s powers helped save Tuscany from the bubonic plague. The rain washed away the poison that the Mongols brought in, destroying the bacteria that was killing the grapes. Veronica not only saved her hometown, but she also produced the best wine.
